Luna London Review: The Club Has Closed, Where to Go Instead

Request to book a table or join a guestlist for the most exclusive London nightclubs.

Luna London has closed. Luna, also known as Luna Club London, the club that ran beneath the Inca restaurant at 8-9 Argyll Street near Oxford Circus, is no longer trading, so there are no Luna nights, tables or guestlists to book and we no longer take requests for it. If you were reading reviews before a night out, this page sums up what Luna was and where to go instead.

Be wary of anyone still offering Luna tables or guestlist places: there is no Luna night to book.

What Luna London was like (history)

While it was open, Luna was a members'-club style room below the Inca restaurant on Argyll Street, on the Soho side of Regent Street. It opened on Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm to 4am and played open-format music, mostly hip-hop and RnB with some Afrobeats, house and commercial.

Tables started from a £1,000 minimum spend, with VIP tables from £2,000, and the guestlist was for ladies only. The door asked for smart, elegant dress: heels for women, and a shirt, smart trousers and dress shoes for men. Those were its terms while it traded, not current prices.

The clubs below are open, we book them every week, and most are a few minutes' walk from Argyll Street.

  • Cirque Le Soir is the nearest, just across Regent Street in Carnaby, with performers through the night alongside the DJs.
  • Tape London has the same hip-hop, RnB and Afrobeats sound Luna leaned on, with a bigger celebrity draw.
  • Selene London, just north of Oxford Street, is a newer room and often the easiest of these to book at short notice.
  • Maddox Club is the closest to Luna's intimate, members'-club feel: a small, dark room mixing house, hip-hop and RnB.
  • The Box is the different night out: cabaret and late performance. Time Out names it among the best clubs in London, as its pick for a "bougie" night.

All five run a smart, elegant dress code, and all but The Box run ladies-only guestlists. Our London nightclub guestlist guide and London club dress code guide cover the rest.

Tell us the night and your group size through London nightclub bookings or get in touch, and we will send the tables and guestlist places available. The Luna London page lists every alternative we suggest.
