• Deposits: uniquely to peak nights like NYE, some venues secure tables with deposits under their own terms. We flag exactly which before you commit — no surprises.
• Entry/tickets: where venues run ticketed entry or limited lists, fees sit well above normal nights and sell through early.
• The value play: January 1st and 2nd. With NYE on a Thursday, the whole weekend parties — and the recovery nights offer the same rooms at normal-to-modest minimums with far better availability.

The Booking Timeline

NYE rewards the organised more than any night of the year:

• October — the smart window: full choice of venues and tables at the sanest minimums. The best tables at Tape and Cirque start going.
• November — still good availability at most rooms; premium positions thinning.
• Early December — the last comfortable window; several venues fully booked.
• Christmas week — remnants only, at the highest prices. Possible, not pretty.

NYE is the night the usual rules bend.
