New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 31 December; The Scotch of St James opens that night and tables should be booked early. The club is in Masons Yard, St James's, a few minutes from Green Park, and on its normal Thursday to Saturday nights it runs from 11pm to 5am, one of the latest finishes in the West End.

A New Year's Eve table is not booked like a normal Thursday. Four things to plan around:

• A minimum spend, agreed before the night. The figure depends on where the table sits (the club has standard tables and booths on its lower floor) and on the size of the group. The minimum is spent on drinks across the night.
• Payment in advance. Expect an NYE table to be paid for before the night. We confirm the club's payment terms for your table before you commit.
• Arrival by 11pm. Plan to be at the door by 11pm so the whole group is seated well before the countdown.
• A fixed group size. The table is quoted for a set number of guests. Tell us early if your numbers change, because extra guests on the night are at the door's discretion.

What does a table cost at The Scotch of St James on NYE?

NYE minimum spends are set by the club, are higher than a normal Saturday, and are confirmed when you book. We do not publish a Scotch NYE figure before the club releases its table plan. Dress code on New Year's Eve

The Scotch of St James enforces a smart and elegant dress code, and New Year's Eve is a night to dress up rather than down. Women wear heels or heeled evening boots. Getting there and home on New Year's Eve

• Nearest Tube: Green Park, a short walk away. Piccadilly Circus is walkable too, but last New Year's Eve it closed or went exit-only from 11.30pm.
• Last year's Tube (NYE 2025): the Tube and DLR ran all night, but stations near the river closed or went exit-only through the evening: Charing Cross from 6pm, Westminster from 9.30pm, Embankment and Temple from 11pm, and Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus from 11.30pm. TfL had not published its NYE 2026 plans as of October 2026, so check again in December.
• Fireworks crowds: the Mayor of London's fireworks are ticketed. Tickets went on sale at 12pm on Friday 23 October 2026, only through Ticketmaster, at £20 to £50 depending on viewing area and residency, and london.gov.uk is clear that nobody gets into the viewing areas without one. Expect the streets towards the river to be busy around midnight.
• Black cabs: an extra £4 is added to metered fares between 8pm on 31 December and 6am on 2 January.
