Christmas 2026: Are Clubs Open in London on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day?

Christmas 2026 at a glance: Christmas Eve is Thursday 24 December, Christmas Day is Friday 25 December and Boxing Day is Saturday 26 December. Many London clubs open on Christmas Eve, almost none open on Christmas Day (and there is no public transport at all), and Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year, which makes it one of the biggest nights of the holiday.

One thing applies to all three days: clubs announce their Christmas schedules themselves, usually in November or early December. The nights below are each venue's normal weekly pattern from our own club listings, not a confirmed festive timetable. Always confirm the night is going ahead before you plan around it; we check with the venue for every Christmas week request we handle.

Are Clubs Open in London on Christmas Eve 2026?

Yes, many are. Christmas Eve 2026 is a Thursday, and Thursday is already a regular club night in Mayfair and the West End. The clubs we work with that normally open on a Thursday are:

• Dear Darling on Jermyn Street, 11pm to 4am
• Maddox Club, 11pm to 4am
• London Reign on Piccadilly, 11pm to 4am
• Scotch of St James, 11pm to 5am
• Rumour on Dover Street (formerly Tabu), 11pm to 4am
• 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club), 11pm to 4am
• The Box in Soho, 10pm to 3am
• Selene on Winsley Street, 11pm to 4am

A late room also normally runs on Thursdays from 2am to 6am: Green Room by Maddox. Little Tape runs on Fridays and Saturdays only, from 3am to 5:30am. Tape London, Cirque le Soir and Rex Rooms do not usually open on Thursdays, and BEAT opens only on select Thursdays, so do not expect them on Christmas Eve unless they announce a special night.

Is Christmas Eve busy? It is a mixed crowd. Plenty of Londoners travel home or stay in with family, while office groups who finished work that day, visitors spending Christmas in London and people who are not celebrating fill the rooms. It is rarely as packed as a normal December Friday or Saturday, which can make a table or a guestlist place easier to get. Arriving in the first hour is still the safest plan, as it is on any night (see when London clubs open and close).

Getting home is the hard part. Public transport winds down early on Christmas Eve. Last year Time Out's Christmas transport guide reported a reduced service from around 7pm, the tube, DLR, Elizabeth line and Overground closing at around 10pm, and no night buses on Christmas Eve. A club night that ends at 3am or 4am on 25 December therefore means a pre-booked taxi or private hire car, and demand for both is high. Book your ride home before you go out.

Are Clubs Open in London on Christmas Day 2026?

Almost none. Christmas Day 2026 is a Friday, normally one of the busiest club nights of the week, but London clubs as a rule stay closed on the day itself. If a club does open on the night of 25 December, it will announce it in December; until then, assume it is closed.

Two practical points if you are in London on Christmas Day:

• There is no public transport. The tube, buses, DLR, Overground, trams and National Rail all stop running for the day. Only taxis and private hire run.
• The early hours of 25 December are a different story. A Christmas Eve night at a Thursday club runs until 3am to 5am, so "Christmas Day" for most clubbers means the end of the Christmas Eve night, not a new night out.

Are Clubs Open in London on Boxing Day 2026?

Yes, and this is the big one. Boxing Day 2026 falls on Saturday 26 December, so the clubs that open on Saturdays normally run as usual, and the mood is the one many Londoners wait for all week: Christmas Day is over, people are back in town and the New Year build-up has started. Every club we work with normally opens on a Saturday, which makes Boxing Day the night with the widest choice across the whole Christmas period.

Expect it to be busy. Big groups, birthday tables and visitors all land on the same night, so popular rooms can fill early. If you want a table on Boxing Day, ask in November rather than the week before; for guestlist, arrive in the first hour and follow the venue's dress code (our London club dress code guide covers what is refused).

Transport is lighter than a normal Saturday. Last year the tube and Overground opened at around 7am on Boxing Day, the Elizabeth line was closed for the day and there was no Night Tube or Night Overground. TfL publishes its 2026 Christmas timetable in December; until then, plan for a taxi home after a 4am finish.

Which Clubs Normally Open on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day?

This is each venue's normal weekly pattern from our club listings. Christmas week can differ, so treat it as a guide to which rooms are likely to open and confirm the night before you plan around it.

Every club in the table normally opens on a Friday too, but Christmas Day is the exception: plan on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day instead.

How to Plan a Night Out Over Christmas 2026

• Confirm the night first. Christmas schedules are announced by each club in November and December. We confirm the night with the venue before we arrange anything, and you should do the same if you go direct.
• Ask about festive nights early. Special Christmas Eve or Boxing Day events may run with different terms from a normal night, and tables go first. Our Mayfair table prices guide shows the normal-night picture; ask for the festive details when you enquire.
• Book your transport. With no night buses on Christmas Eve, no transport at all on Christmas Day and no Night Tube on Boxing Day, a taxi or private hire booking is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
