Bagatelle London: The Party Dinner, Late Nights & How to Book

Bagatelle is where Mayfair goes when it wants dinner to turn into a party without changing venue: the St-Tropez formula of champagne parades, DJs and dancing between courses, transplanted to Dover Street. Here's how a Bagatelle night works and how to keep it going after the restaurant winds down.

What Bagatelle Is

Born from the St-Tropez and international party-dining scene, Bagatelle runs as a French Mediterranean restaurant that stops pretending to be just a restaurant somewhere around the dessert course. On Friday and Saturday nights especially, the music comes up, champagne arrives with sparklers and flags, and the room dances: on the floor, beside the tables, occasionally above them. It's the most committed party-dining room in Mayfair, and the crowd books it precisely for that arc.

How to Get In

Reservations, made directly with the restaurant. The party is built around dinner service, so the way in is a table: ideally a later sitting on Friday or Saturday, which lands you in the room as it peaks rather than as it warms up. Weekend prime times book out well ahead.

There's no guestlist and no door entry: no table, no party. And we'll be straight: Bagatelle handles its own bookings; we don't arrange them.

Dress for it. This is a dressed-up room even by Mayfair standards: the champagne-parade crowd puts in effort, and you'll want to match it. Our dress code guide covers the standard; lean to the glamorous end of it.

After Bagatelle: The Nearby Club Options

Bagatelle's party runs late for a restaurant, but it's still a restaurant: when the tables close, the night moves. Dover Street is well placed for exactly that, with the clubs we book a short walk away:

• Maddox Club: the intimate after-party room, a short walk north on Mill Street. Tables from £1,000.
• Dear Darling: Jermyn Street, across Piccadilly near Green Park: house upstairs, hip-hop downstairs. Tables from £800.
• Scotch of St James: Mason's Yard, St James's: open-format music until 5am. Tables from £1,000.
• London Reign: Piccadilly: champagne shows, hip-hop, RnB and commercial. Tables from £800.

Funky Buddha and Luxx on Berkeley Street have closed, and Itzel (formerly Funky Buddha) now operates at their address; we book Itzel too, so ask us when you enquire. Tabu on Dover Street is now Rumour and Cuckoo Club on Swallow Street is now 99 Regent Street, and we book both.

We arrange the club half free of charge: send your group size and date via a London nightclub booking and we'll have confirmed options back within the hour, so the only decision left at midnight is which door to walk to.
